Brevard Biker Local ContributorRogue
Rogue is our
consultant. He will also be wearing many hats. At present, he is doing the RX
column, sup- plying photos, doing articles, and just generally helping all of
us out using his prior experience.
Rogue has been
riding for 46 years. His present motorcycle is one he built for himself,
while employed at a local motorcycle shop. It also sports the “1 Rogue”
license plate.
He is originally
from Bridgeport, Conn., and well known in that area for being the president
of a large motorcycle club in the early ‘70s. When his good friend Donald
“Pappy” Pittsley died in 1975, he resigned from the club and took over
the Conn. Motorcycle Rights Organization. Rogue was responsible for getting
that state’s mandated helmet law repealed. It should be noted that Conn.
still does not have a mandatory helmet law. He also traveled around the east
coast helping other states fighting their unjust laws.
In the late ‘70s,
he moved to Melbourne and opened a motorcycle shop. A partnership did not
work out, and he went to work for other shops, while earning a good
reputation as a motorcycle mechanic and custom bike builder. Recently, he
was director of research and development for a motorcycle manufacturer. At
present, he is working in the automotive field and also does motorcycle work
on the side.
Rogue has his own
motorcycle and event photography business. He started submitting photos to
motorcycle publications in the ‘60s and is still doing so today. He works
mostly for Paisano Publications (Easyriders- Biker-In The Wind, etc.) You
may even have seen his photos or read one of his articles in these or other
publications, and now you will in Brevard Biker.
He has been for
many years and still is a member of the American Motorcycle Association,
Harley Owners Group, ABATE Motorcycle Riders foundation, and BRO. Rogue is
also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of Brevard, as well as the American
Legion.
Rogue is pastor of
Biker’s Church and holds the title of Reverend. He is known for helping
bikers and others when he can. Rogue was also a Motorcycle Safety Foundation
instructor and strongly supports their current programs.
Ladies,
Rogue is presently single, recently becoming divorced. He reportedly is
looking for a new companion. He likes them just a little younger than
himself and has often been heard saying that is one of the things that keeps
him young. That might get interesting.
