This is the second time I have attended
this rally and it gets bigger and better every year. That does not
surprise me though as it has a lot going for it.
It is put on by the Misfits MC of
Hattiesburg and was very well organized and staffed. The profits of
the event go to benefit Children’s Hospitals, Injured Motorcyclist,
Terminally Ill People and Local Law Enforcement.
It is held at the Forrest County
Multipurpose Center in Hattiesburg Mississippi which is ideal for
this type of event. The many covered buildings that make up the
complex insure that weather will not be a problem. It is easy to get
to on highways or country roads. There are camper and tent camping
areas on premise and also a lake.
Mixed drinks, beer and food
concessions are all over the complex as well as vendors. The vendors
are limited so as to not have too many of the same kind. A good mix
of supply and assortment.
The music started at noon and
continued until closing at 2:00AM with the likes of Blues Singer
Mean Gene Kelton along with the Dawn Barham Band, Haywire,
Deepwater, Honest Brad, and The Navigators bands.
The Fere Motorcycle Stunt Show was
something to see as was the Custom Bike Show and Biker Games.
The evening entertainment also
included the Miss South Mississippi Biker Queen Contest and the ever
popular Wet-T-Shirt contest.
The dates for the 2005 Event are
Thursday March 30th to Sunday April 3rd. You
can find more information and get tickets by checking their web site
http://www.southmississippibikerally.com/ or phoning
1-800-852-4866.
I have had Big Fun at the past events
so you can count on seeing me at the next one. I hope to see and
meet you there. Hey have me take your picture, it could end up here.
